On this 44 minute long EP, Wrest takes Leviathan out of the project's usual raw Black Metal and explores a similar aesthetic with Dark Ambient. Much of the music is created with guitar strains and feedback, lending an almost Drone feel to it.

The Dear Hunter - Act 1: The Lake South, The River North

The Dear Hunter's debut. Layered and complex instrumentals make up the musical heart of the album, primarily in the style of progressive rock but also incorporating elements of orchestral music, blues-rock, jazz, ragtime, and ambient, sometimes several times in the space of a single song. The vocals are similarly varied, with pop-ballad sections giving way to dense harmonization that would shame a barbershop quartet.

The album is also a concept album, the first in a set of 6 telling the surreal story of the titular character The Dear Hunter.

I like this one a lot, but Act II (The second album) is better in my opinion.

I can't find any samples anywhere, Fin de Siècle weren't exactly well known. Nine Barns was their last album and is really a quite beautiful, interesting and eerie Ambient album that sometimes boarders on Neofolk in a few songs. The ambience is mostly created through wonderfully creative violin, guitar and drum work, with sound clips and backing synth in many places added to it. The wonderful, intense and eerie atmosphere the violin work of Florence Cailleux can create is especially noticeable on tracks like "Fearless Femme" and "Prison". "Daddy" is an incredibly intriguing musical adaption of Sylvia Plath's poem by the same name, with a recording of Sylvia Plath herself reading the poem placed over Ambient music. If you're interested in something experimental, interesting and absorbing, give this a listen, but skip it if you don't plan on sitting down and opening yourself up to every second of the music.

It's hard to decide, but of the three 20.SV albums I've heard, Gaz Mask.Radiative Hate might be my favorite. It's much more active than the previous 20.SV album I posted, Extermination Process. Gaz Mask.Radiative Hate is a more active journey, one that could best be described as apocalyptic.
